Obituary

Allyn Mason Greene, 90, of Sprague Street, Greenville, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at The Holiday in Manville. He was the devoted husband of the late Diane L. (Shea) Greene.

Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Ferdinand and Ethel (Sweeney) Greene. He had lived in Greenville since 1955. He served as a pilot in the US Army AirForce.

He was a police officer for the Johnston Police Department and later worked as a mechanic for Burns & Crusoe and Auto Engineering in Lexington, MA before retiring.

He is survived by his children, Susan M. Rudis and her husband, Rick, Ellen A. Greene and David A. Greene all of Smithfield, Michael J. Greene of Milton, MA and Daniel T. Greene and his wife, Pam of Smithfield, as well as his grandchildren: Padraic, Derek, Christie, Travis, Michael, Courtney, Brendan, Brady, Fallon and Brian and four great grandchildren: Landon, Oliver, Shea and Blake.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 8am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in Saint Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917. Burial will follow in Acote’s Hill Cemetery, Chepachet. Visitation Friday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael’s Church.
