Winifred C. Lynch
SALEM, NH: Winifred C. Lynch, age 97, a longtime resident of Salem, NH, formerly of Malden, MA, passed away at Care One at Wilmington on Monday, July 25, 2016.
She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas A. Lynch, who passed away in January 2001.
Born in Mexico, Maine on September 14, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred Caron and the late Leontine (St. Laurent) Caron.
Winifred was raised in Mexico, Maine, and graduated from Mexico High School in 1936.
Prior to her retirement, she worked at the Macy’s Department Store in Salem and previously worked at the former Rockingham Park for more than 20 years.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Joseph’s Parish in Salem, NH.
Winifred was a member of the Salem Senior Center, where she participated in numerous activities and attended many social functions.
She is survived by three children, Thomas A. “Tim” Lynch and his wife Regine of Tallahassee, FL, Karen Favreau and her husband Lionel, and Susan Verhulst and her husband Anton all of Tewksbury, MA; grandchildren, Lauren Owirka and her husband Greg, Darrell Favreau and his wife Laurie, Kyle Favreau and his wife Karen, Katelyn Amraen and her husband Daniel, and Thomas A. Lynch, Jr.; great grandchildren, Kyra, Connor, Adrianna, and Adam Favreau, Jade Owirka, and John T. Amraen; also many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Winifred was the sister of the late Omer Caron, Lillian Cousins, and Anita Arsenault.
Calling hours are Thursday, July 28, from 5-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be held Friday, July 29, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH. Donations in Winifred’s memory may be sent to St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876.
