Ethan Eldred Hargreaves, 22, of Derry, NH, a very special son, brother and father, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus July 25, 2016. He passed due to injuries sustained in a car accident. Ethan was born July 6, 1994 to Mark and Rosemary Hargreaves and shares his birthday with his grandmother, Dorothy Hargreaves. Ethan had just started a new job at Bay State Gypsum Flooring and was on his way to work that morning. Although it was to be only his third day with the company, they have reached out to the family to tell them that Ethan was a very good and hard worker. Just the day before Ethan was telling his mom and dad how determined he was to excel at this job and to advance within the company. He had recently refocused his life and was determined to make some changes to benefit his children. His family was very proud of him.
Ethan was well known for his generosity and he was always willing to help anyone in need. As a boy he would often take the toy from his McDonald’s Happy Meal and give the toy to another child in the restaurant. He had a fantastic sense of humor and could make anyone laugh or cheer up anyone who was feeling down. Talking in his “Russian accent” and several other routines that he came up with were always hilarious and clever and people never grew tired of hearing him do them. Another thing he was known for was his incredible imagination. He was a very creative person and an excellent artist. He was also becoming involved in making music.
He had been a Cub Scout and Boy Scout. He was a graduate of the class of 2012 of Pinkerton Academy.
Ethan is survived by his parents Mark and Rosemary (Eldred) Hargreaves, his sister Abby Hargreaves, his grandmother Dorothy Hargreaves, his son Aaron Hargreaves and his daughter Avery Hargreaves. He is also survived by his girlfriend Justyce Cook, close friend Kirsten Cote, and by many aunts, uncles and cousins among many other beloved friends too numerous to name (you know who you are).
Calling hours were held on Saturday, July 30th from 9am – 12noon in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A funeral service followed at 12:30pm in the Church of the Transfiguration, 1 Hood Rd., Derry. The burial was held in Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to a trust fund being established in the names of Aaron and Avery Hargreaves. Please send donations for the trust, C/O Mark and Rosemary Hargreaves, 25 Berry Rd., Derry, NH 03038.
