Amalia Hernandez, age 74, a long time resident of Dorchester, MA who was born in Moca, Puerto Rico to the late Juan and America Ortega, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family, on Monday, July 25th.
Beloved wife to the late Efrain Hernandez, Devoted mother to her 5 children: Carlos Hernandez, Awilda Ortiz, Jose Hernandez, Ermelinda Perez and Seida Hernandez-Hawe.
Loving grandmother to her 9 grandchildren: Gabili Ortiz, Daniel A. Perez, Keylanis Hernandez, Carlos M. Hernandez, Jessica M. Perez, Tiziana A. Hernandez, Tizia M. Hernandez, Alicia L. Hawe and Nicholas R. Hawe.
Loving great-grandmother to Anahi Ortiz.
She is survived by 4 brothers: Angel Ortega and Antonio Ortega of Florida, Rosario Ortega of California and Juan Ortega of Boston as well as 2 sisters, Ramona Morales of Boston and Cecilia Rodriguez of New York.

Visiting hours will be held at the Brady & Fallon Funeral Home 10 Tower St. (Opp. Forest Hills MBTA Station) Jamaica Plain on Thursday July 28 from 6-9 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday July 29 from 10 am until 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will follow at New Calvary Cemetery.
