Obituary

Hazel E. Zoerb, 98, of Derry, NH, died Sunday July 24, 2016, in Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry, NH. She was born in Malden, MA on January 11, 1918, a daughter of the late David and Nora (Silliker) Hamilton, and had been a resident of Derry for the past 80 years, formerly living in Chester. Mrs. Zoerb was employed as an inspector for Western Electric in N. Andover, MA for many years, retiring in 1980. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas church in Derry. Mrs. Zoerb was a member of the Senior Friends and the Red Hat Ladies.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane Weber and husband Richard of Salem, NH; two sons, James M. Cassidy and wife Lillian of Derry, NH, and Leonard Cassidy and wife Virginia of Manchester, NH; one son-in-law, Richard Quimby of Layton Utah, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Conrad Zoerb in 1999, as well as by one daughter Sheila Quimby and all of her siblings, Gertrude, Estella, David, Edward and George.

Calling hours were held on Monday, August 1, 2016 from 4 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Funeral services were held on Tuesday August 2nd at 10:00am in the funeral home with burial that followed in the Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
