Tarutis, Shirley. Of South Boston, died July 23, 2016, age 91. Loving aunt of Patricia Dambry of South Boston, Marcia Dambry and her husband, Thomas Barber, of Charlotte, NC, Linda Lovett and her husband, Ronald Lovett, of Weymouth, and the late Phyllis Dill, and her husband, Ernest. Great-aunt of Joanna Barber of Charlotte, NC. Graduate of South Boston High School and Boston Clerical Business School. Former employee of Jordan Marsh and Stone & Webster. Shirley enjoyed life and had many friends. She was an inveterate traveler, having visited many states from Florida to California, as well as travelling to London, Paris, Rome, the Alps, Canada, and the Caribbean. Carson Beach was also a favorite. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 30, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Chapel, 181 Dorchester Street, South Boston. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Compass on the Bay for their dedicated care of Shirley for the past eight years.
