Richard "Dick" E. Neff, 90, died peacefully at home July 22, 2016.
He was born December 1, 1925 in Anderson the son of George D. and Mary Ann (Antrim) Neff.
He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
Dick retired from Inland Fisher Guide Division of General Motors then worked part time at Northgate True Value Hardware for over 20 years. He was a member of Markleville Masonic Lodge # 629; Eastern Star, Odd Fellows Lodge #131, Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite and American Legion.
He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He also enjoyed the company of his family of pets. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed bowling and hunting.
Dick is survived by his five children, Elizabeth "Beth" (Jeff Huffman) Neff of Anderson, Susan (Lance) Crosby of Orange, VA; Connie Jo Haislip of NC; Dennis (Paula) Arntz of FL; and Rick Neff of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Stacy (Josh) McCullough; Amanda (Skip) Shafer; Tabitha (Jordan) Benson; Justin Neff; Mitchell Neff; Ricky Neff and Shayla Crosby; many great-grandchildren; niece, Penny Jo Neff of Las Vegas and several other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue A. (Noland) Neff in 2006; his parents; two brothers, George and William Neff.
Funeral services will be held 11 am on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson, with military graveside rites.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Masonic service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to Madison County Humane Society.
