Imogene Franks Ellis, 79, of Tifton passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Isaac Thomas, Jr. officiating. Mrs. Ellis will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 26, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born September 30, 1936 in Marion County, Alabama, Mrs. Ellis was the daughter of Dessie Green Franks of Ashburn and the late Otis M. Franks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harvey T. Ellis; and a sister, Ima Lou Swords. She was retired from Tift Regional Medical Center and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed quilting, fishing, working puzzles, cooking and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by her children, Joyce and Ralph Thompson of Wrightsville, Vickie and Taddy West of Tifton, Joe and Connie Luke of Tifton, Lamar and Debbie Ellis of Adel and Clyde Ellis of Albany; eight grandchildren, Wendy Wilson, Jason Nelson, Misti Day, Jessica Yeary, Justin Ellis, Rece Ellis, Clay Ellis and Brittany Ellis; and nine great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
