Evelyn Zonnie Horton Farmer, 84, of Tifton passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Brantley Seymour officiating. Mrs. Farmer will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, July 25, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Bob Farmer Jr., Steve Farmer Jr., Will Parkerson, Kyle Farmer, A. H. Horton Jr. and Hunter Farmer will serve as pallbearers.
Born January 25, 1932 in Tift County, Mrs. Farmer was the daughter of the late William David Horton and Jewel Cobia Horton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Spurley Farmer; a son, Steve Ellis Farmer; a daughter, Bonnie “June” Farmer; and three brothers, Alver Horton Sr., Robert Horton and Carl Horton. She was a homemaker and a caregiver.
Mrs. Farmer is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Helen Farmer of Ty Ty and Dennis Farmer of Tifton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Tim Burnette of Moultrie and Deloris and Richard Robison of Doerun; 13 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
