Tara Chagnon of Natick passed away peacefully at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice in Wayland surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer, at age 31.
Born in Salt Lake City Utah, Tara moved to Natick before she turned one year of age, the daughter of Michael Chagnon Jr and the late Cheryl Chagnon. Tara was a 2003 graduate of Natick High School.
She continued her education receiving a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice at Castleton State University, VT, then going on to receive a double Masters In Criminal Justice and Mental Health Counseling at Suffolk University in Boston Ma. In spite of a busy schedule working for Mass 211 and school, Tara found the time to travel to Hawaii on several occasions to perfect her surfing which she loved so much. Social time with family and friends meant so much to her, especially while in the company of her much loved nieces and nephews.
Tara is survived by her father and stepmother Michael and Carolyn Chagnon of Wareham, Grandparents Paul "Micky" and Kathleen "Kay" Hand of Wayland, Michael and Catherine Chagnon of Fort Pierce FL, May Milligan of PA, and the late Juanita Chagnon, brothers Joseph Chagnon of Milford, Nathan Chagnon of Natick, Michael III and Kayla Chagnon of Framingham, Greg and Claudia Chagnon of Framingham, Peter and Heather Chagnon of Stow, Brendan Mulcahey of Fairhaven, and her sister Shannon Mulcahey of Wareham. Tara is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Tara in the Chapel of the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, at Natick Common on Saturday, July 30th at 10:00 A.M. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
