Obituary

Howard J. Drew, 90, of Franklin died July 21 in Milford Regional Medical Center, he was the husband of Lorraine (Mello) and the late Irene (Lavine) Drew.

Born in Whitehall, New York, April 7, 1926, the son of the late George K. and Veronica (Trainor) Drew, Mr. Drew was raised in Providence, Rhode Island and had lived in Franklin for the past 51 years.

Howard had been a sales representative for the Benjamin Moore Paint Company for many years.

He served in the Navy during both World War II and the Korean War as a medic.

Howard enjoyed, golfing, boating and fishing.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Carolyn White and her husband Douglas of Burrillville, Rhode Island, James Drew and his wife Sheila of Exeter, Rhode Island, Jeffrey White and his wife Cheryl of North Attleboro, Neil White of Ormond Beach, Florida, Roseann Smith of Burrillville, Rhode Island and Maryann Palumbo and her husband William of Northbridge.

He was the brother of the late Thomas Drew and Marjorie Marshall.
Howard is also survived by his grandchildren, Thomas, Matthew, Aibhilin, Jeffrey, Allison, Justin, Jarred, Zach, Billy and Jenifer and his great-grandchildren, Jaysin , Elyse and Eli.

His funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 27 in St. Mary’s Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ghinleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin.
