Steven Fernandes, 65, of New Bedford, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016 at home. He was the husband of Kathleen Fernandes and son of Eileen and Henry Fernandes and the younger brother of Henry Fernandes Jr.
He was born and raised in New Bedford. Survivors include his children Justin, Erin and Jenna Fernandes, along with Michael and Nicole Whalen. He left behind 7 grandchildren and his girlfriend Stephanie Whalen.
He achieved his highest aspirations working world wide for AHOLD Corporation as the V.P. Director of Operations. Then he thrived in the small business world.
His actions were not always easy to understand, but what he did, he did out of love and always had the desire to help everyone learn and grow. Steven was a provider and wanted to make sure that everyone around him was taken care of. At the end of the day he always just wanted to be loved.
A Graveside service will be held on Monday, July 25 at 1:00 P.M in Rural Cemetery. Those who would like to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, MA 02740
