Obituary

WORCESTER: Ann M. Hoey, 86, of Pilgrim Ave. died Tuesday, July 19 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home after an illness.
She leaves her sister-in-law Lois A. Hoey of Leicester, two nieces Kathleen A. Hoey of Leicester and Patricia A. (Hoey) Gahagan and her husband John of Leicester, a grandniece Abigal Elizabeth Gahagan and a grandnephew John Edward Gahagan. She was predeceased by her brother Edward R. Hoey and her longtime companion James F. Early.
Ms. Hoey was born in Worcester, daughter of Edward L. and Lea M. (Hamel) Hoey. She was a secretary to Mayors Thomas Early and Timothy Murray, and also to the Worcester City Councilors for many years, retiring in 2002. She previously worked at Crompton & Knowles in Worcester. She graduated from St. Peter's High School. She loved her family. Ann was loving and generous to her nieces, as well as her grandniece and grandnephew and was truly a best friend to her sister-in-law. She spent all holidays and many summers at her "second home" in Leicester. She enjoyed vacationing with her family at The Seaside in Kennebunk, Maine. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The funeral will be held Friday, July 22 from MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Thursday, July 21 from 5:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Rose Monahan Home, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
