June R. (Bradford) Teixeira, a resident of Charlestown for over 70 years, entered into eternal life peacefully on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose following an extended illness. She was 96 years old.
June was born in Brookline on November 5, 1919, a daughter of the late James L. Bradford and Alice E. (Magennity) Bradford. She grew up in Dorchester where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Dorchester High School. June worked as a Receptionist for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Welfare Department and retired following many years of dedicated service to the State of Massachusetts. June enjoyed, bowling, playing bingo, reading and most of all she cherished the quality times she was able to spend with her great-grandchildren.
June is the beloved wife of the late Joseph C. Teixeira. She is the devoted mother of Donald Teixeira, retired Boston Firefighter Steven Teixeira and his wife Marjorie and the late Michael Teixeira and his surviving wife Dottie. She is the loving Grandma to Steven Jr. and Stephanie Teixeira, Jill and Jim Finn, Jason and Jen Walsh, Bryan and Kim Walsh, Amy and John Melillo and her great-grandchildren Julia, Cristina, Aileen, Patrick, Corey, Ben and Evelyn. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend June's Funeral Mass on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11 A.M. in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown. Her burial will be private. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
