Obituary

Nancy R. Brown, formerly of Ledyard, passed on July 18, in Waterford. Nancy was born August 10, 1924 in Haverhill, MA. to Russell and Ruth (Bartlett) Robinson. She graduated from Lockwood High School in Warwick, RI in 1942, and RI College of Education in 1946. In the late 1940's Nancy taught at Fitch High School, where she met, and taught Edward S. Brown.

Ed and Nancy were married in 1949. They eventually moved to Ledyard where Nancy taught in the elementary schools for 24 years. Together they ran Ed & Nan's Archery from their home, later opening Ed & Nan's Archery Lanes in Taftville. Both were members of the Professional Archery Association, and traveled extensively participating and officiating at archery tournaments. They later became snow birds to Florida. Nancy loved to knit, crochet and paint, gifting many of her projects.

Ed and Nancy were married 56 years when Ed passed away.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, BarbaraAnn McKibben, and her husband James, daughter in law, Joyce Brown, and grandchildren, Tracy Brunelle ,husband John, Kyle McKibben, Andrew McKibben , wife Shivon, Timothy McKibben, and David Brown, and three great-grandchildren, Jesse and Jillian Brunelle, and Emma McKibben. She is also survived by her sister May Tobler of Va. She was predeceased by her husband, Ed, son, Robert Y. Brown, and sister Shirley Farrell.

Her family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, July 22, from 10 to 11am at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00am at the funeral home with burial immediately following in Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic.
