Mary R. Yozura, 83, of Woonsocket died Saturday evening at Mt. St Rita Health Center in Cumberland. She was the loving wife of Vincent Yozura. They were married in June of 1957.
Born and raised in Woonsocket she was daughter of the late Alphonse Cayer and Mary (Lovely) Cayer. She was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. Yozura worked at Tupperware and later at Atlantic Thermal Plastics both in North Smithfield.
Mary was a dedicated bingo player and enjoyed cooking. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother and cherished her granddaughters. Mary’s family was at the center of her life.
In addition to her husband of over 59 years she is survived by two sons Vincent P. Yozura and his partner, Don Matthews, of Kansas, George J. Yozura and his wife, Jo Ann, of Woonsocket and a daughter Lori Ann Malec and her husband, Gregory, of Central Falls. She was the sister of Dorothy Martens of Woonsocket and the late Raymond Larouche. She is also survived by two grandchildren Julia Yozura and Anastasia Malec and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Visiting hours are Friday from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mt. St. Rita Health Center Activity Fund, 15 Sumner Brown Rd. Cumberland, RI. 02864.
