Joan Barry Doherty, age 85, a long-time resident of Winchester, passed away on July 18, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Edmond J. Doherty, and the loving mother of Edmund J. and John B. Doherty, both of Winchester. Joan was the dear sister of Lois Barry of Cotuit, Barbara Murphy of Winchester and the late Alma Coleman and Claire Donahue, and is further survived by 5 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Thursday, July 21 from 4-8 PM, and again on Friday, July 22, at 9AM before leaving in procession to St. Eulalia’s Church, 50 Ridge St., Winchester, for her Funeral Mass at 10AM. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
