Barbara Mae Brewer, 86, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, July 18, 2016, at Life Care Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Jeff Parmer officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brewer was born August 6, 1929, in Rhine, Georgia, to Dick and Verna Mae Mixon Hilliard. She was a 1946 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and was a majorette. She lived in the community most of her life. Mrs. Brewer enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking, growing flowers, fishing, and shopping and red wine. Mrs. Brewer was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years: Elton F. Brewer of Fitzgerald; a son: Lloyd Brewer & Tina of Dahlonega; four grandchildren: Jennifer Whisnant, Sean Brewer, Lacey Barnes and Brittany Jones and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother: Lester Hilliard.
