Obituary


Vincent A. “Pete” Grasso, age 79 of Brockton died Sunday July 17, 2016 peacefully at his home after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his family.
Pete was born in Boston and was raised in Roslindale, later moving to Dedham. He was the son of the late A. Ted Grasso and Helen E. (Kelley) Grasso. He resided in Brockton for the past 52 years.

Pete attended Dedham High School and from there went on to work with his dad at the family owned business, Wheeler Dart Express in Boston. He continued in the trucking business for years ahead, employed by New Penn Trucking out of Billerica. He had been a proud, long time member of Teamsters Local 25.
He had been retired for 17 years and enjoyed being at home relaxing. He spent time with his children and looked forward to visits with his grandsons. He had a small collection of antique vehicles and took great joy when driving them and being stopped by admirers.

Pete was the loving husband of the late Janice M. (O’Brien) Grasso for 57 years. He was the devoted father to Denise Willis and her husband Mark of Raynham, Donna Sneider of Plymouth, David Grasso of Brockton and the late Michael Grasso. He also leaves 2 grandsons, Matthew and Markie Willis. He was the brother of Lorraine DeFranco of Dedham, Paul Grasso and his wife Ann of Lakeville and the late Joanne Quinlan and Lillian Baxter of Brockton, Thomas Grasso of Plymouth. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton on Thursday 4-8 pm. The procession will gather at the Funeral home on Friday at 8am for a Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church at 9am. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
