John T. Noel (ret. BPD) of East Bridgewater formerly of Brockton died Saturday July 16, 2016 peacefully at his home with his wife. He was the loving husband of Sandra R. (Hogan) Noel for 40 years. John was born and raised in Brockton a son of the late Joseph and Isabelle (Gibbon) Noel and was a 1961 graduate of Brockton High School.
John was a retired police officer for the City of Brockton having served the department for many years. Previously he worked at Randolph Manufacturing. In his retirement he had worked for fifteen years at the East Bridgewater Commercial Club, retiring in 2015.
John was a member of the Brockton Police Relief Association and the Mass. Police Association. He was also a member of the Brockton and East Bridgewater YMCA and the Commercial Club of East Bridgewater.
John enjoyed watching the Bruins, working in his yard and his two dogs Dudley and Finn. Time with his family, especially grandchildren, gave John the most enjoyment in his life. He will be remembered as an all around nice person who helped anyone in need.
In addition to his wife Sandra, John leaves a son John Noel of Orange, MA, a daughter Lydia Noel of Carver and a step-son James Hogan of E. Bridgewater. He was the grandfather of Jesse Noel and DeJalyn and Domenick Depauw. He was the brother of James Noel of Port Orange, FL; Linda Noel and the late Joseph Noel and Maryellen Bolinda.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Thursday 9:30-11 with a funeral service at 11am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
