Grace P. Goodine, 88, was called home to glory on July 16, 2016 surrounded by her family after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Thomas C. Goodine.
Grace was an enthusiastic sports fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Syracuse Orangemen. She really loved following college football and basketball. She was employed as a cook at the West End Day Nursery and the New Bedford Home for the Aged before retiring.
She loved the Lord, and was a member of the City of Joy Church in New Bedford.
She is survived by three children, Thomas Goodine and his wife Faith of Wareham, Catherine Fowler and her husband George, and Joseph Goodine, all of New Bedford; her brother, John Bulgar of New Bedford; her sister Sarah Stroud of New York; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her children, Evelyn Bulgar, Jeanette Rozario, and Rudolph Bulgar; and her siblings, Clifton Bulgar, Matilda Talley, Mary Andrews, and Theresa Bazar.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 5-8 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
