Dedicated wife, mother and grandmother
Age 87, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Oakdale, Minnesota. She was born October 7, 1928 in Barnes County, North Dakota. She is the last to pass away of the 8 children born to Andrew and Marit, Aarstad. When first married, She was employed by a bank in Minneapolis. Her next career was that of a full time mother and homemaker to her family. She enjoyed embroidering dishtowels as wedding gifts for family and friends. She also excelled and enjoyed sewing clothing for herself and her daughter. She was a wonderful cook, baker, and seamstress. Selma is survived by her children Larry, Mark (Janice), Diane (Mike) Bloom, and Allen; 5 grandchildren Andrew (Joyce), Brian and Greg Bloom, Karen (Mark) Huggins and Jason Rubbert; and by 3 great grandchildren Josephine, Kyra and Dylan Bloom. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Norman. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 20th at SANDBERG FUNERAL HOME, 2593 E 7th Ave, North St. Paul, MN., with a visitation 1/2 hour prior. Interment at Elmhurst Cemetery.
