Elodia Veri passed away at the Cambridge Hospital on Friday evening. She was 92. Born and raised in Arielli, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Maria (DiCarlo) DiPiero.
She came with her family to the United States in 1963 and settled in Somerville. A devoted and hard working woman, she loved to care for her family and was also a talented seamstress, working for Brooks Brothers in Boston, until her retirement. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and great-grandchildren.
The beloved wife of the late Luigi Veri, she was a devoted mother to Pio “Peter” Veri and his wife Jackie of Wilmington. She was a loving Nona to Matteo Veri and his wife Samantha and Giustino Veri and his girlfriend Jessica Richard all of Somerville. She was a loving Great-grandmother to Layla and Malyna. She Leaves her sister Eva DiFabio of Argentina and is predeceased by Guarino, Charlie, Henry and Maria DiPiero.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Monday from 4 thru 8 PM and again on Tuesday, July 19th at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
