Reino W. Oja, 90, of Manchester died July 20, 2005 at Catholic Medical Center after a sudden illness.
Born in Gardner, MA on May 19, 1915, he was the son of Emil and Tyyne (Pienimaa) Oja. He lived in Bedford for 50 years before moving to Manchester six years ago.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Army. He attended Idaho State University.
Mr. Oja worked as an engineer with New England Telephone Company for 36 years. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
He and his wife had summer vacationed in Moultonboro on Lake Winnipesaukee for 45 years.
The family includes his wife of 64 years, Anne (Koski) Oja of Manchester; two children, Carol A. Pow of Bedford and Robert P. Oja of Meredith; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren and cousins.
A memorial service was held Sunday July 24, 2005 in Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester. The Rev. Christopher Emerson officiated.
