Leroy G. Scott, 86 of Chester, NH and formerly of Derry, NH passed away at his home on July 15, 2016 after a period of failing health. He was born on February 18, 1930 in Derry to the late Arthur & Ethel (Hawley) Scott. After graduating from Pinkerton Academy in Derry in 1948, he went on to his career and passion of driving tractor trailer trucks and was a member of Teamsters Local #633. He drove for J.E. Faltin Motor Transportation, Hemingway, Willey's and Valerie's before his retirement in 1997. Leroy will be best known for his interest in the Town of Chester, being on the School Board many years ago and a Selectman of Chester from 2005 to 2007 and going to all of the weekly Selectmen Meetings.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Carolyn A. Scott, three sons, Kevin (wife Annette), Theodore (wife Therese), David (wife Karen), a daughter, Martha Chazanoff (husband Michael) all of Chester. A step-son, Kenneth Wagner II of Milton, NH, and a step-daughter Jennifer Hudson (husband Leonard) of Center Barnstead, eleven grandsons, and one granddaughter, one step granddaughter and one step grandson from Center Barnstead, 14 great grandchildren, one brother, Donald Scott (wife Gloria) of East Derry, NH, one sister-in-law Mary Dean (husband John) of Rochester and one brother-in-law Robert Wilson Jr. of Gosnells, Western Australia, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Leroy was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy (Young) Scott in 1994 and a brother, Arthur Scott Jr. in 1976.
Following cremation, graveside services were held at 10:00am on Saturday July 23, 2016 at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Hampstead Rd., East Derry. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry assisted the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to benefit the town of Chester may be made to BOS Misc. Fund, 84 Chester St., Chester, NH 03036.
