Elizabeth “Betty” Anne passed from this life on July 8, 2016 after a short illness. Betty was one of the first women to graduate from Bellarmine University after it became a co-educational institution in the 1960’s. She earned her masters at the University of Louisville, Kent School in Social Work. She dedicated her career to serving others through JCPS as a social worker. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Robert A. and Emma F. Sanders, and one brother, Patrick Sanders; and is survived by siblings, Kitty Reynolds, Sr. Mary Cecilia, Bob Sanders, John Sanders and Joan Sanders and by several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be at Owen Funeral Home, 9318 Taylorsville Rd., Jeffersontown from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, July 15. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday, July 16 at St. Edward Catholic Church, 9608 Sue Helen Drive, Jeffersontown, followed by a burial of her ashes in St. Michael's Cemetery.
