Obituary

Judith L. "Judy" (Hackett) Gallo, a 15 year resident of Saugus and formerly of Somerville, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Glen Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation in Medford following an extended illness. She was 77 years old.

Judy was born in Cambridge on September 2, 1939, a daughter of the late William Hackett and Helen (Doherty) Hackett. She grew up in Cambridge where she was educated in the Cambridge Public School system. Judy worked for over 20 years as a Bank Teller for several banks in the area. She was also a homemaker who took great pride in caring for her husband and children until her grandchildren arrived and her love for them was unconditional to each and everyone individually.

Judy is the beloved wife of 60 years to James P. Gallo. She is the devoted mother of James P. Gallo Jr. and his wife Nadine of Newburyport, Linda Gilligan and her husband Robert of Tewksbury, Peter P. Gallo and his wife Susan of Boxford and Paula Gallo and her husband Michael DeLuca of Cranston, Rhode Island. She is the loving Nana to Melissa Albano-Davis, Peter P. Gallo Jr., Christopher Albano, Randy Gallo, Cory Gallo, James P. Gallo III & Alex DeLuca and her great-grandchildren Gianna, Christopher, Nico, Antonio, Kayleigh, Dominic, Jaydin and Dante. She is the beloved sister of Lia Brodeur of Melrose, Paula Kennedy of Waltham, Anne Kroll of Utah and the late Virginia Reno, Ethel Fitzgerald, Helen Troop, Mary Sellers, Elizabeth Bernier, William Reno, Paul Reno and William Hackett. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Judy's Funeral Mass on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 11 A.M. in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield. Her burial will be private. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
