Jesse Simmons, Jr., 89, of Westport died Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Ida R. (Pineault) Simmons. A veteran of WWII, he served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the VFW Ouelette Post 8502, Westport. Mr. Simmons was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport.
Including his wife, survivors include 2 sons: Jesse Simmons III of Westport and Gerald Proulx of Westport; a daughter: Patricia Tavares and her husband Larry of Westport; a sister: Eva Boback of Westport; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late John Simmons, James Simmons, Joseph Simmons, Lillian Balek and Rose Sherry.
Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Potter Funeral Home from 5 - 8 P.M.
Funeral services will be private.
