Katherine E. Chism, 90, of Derry, NH died Monday, July 11, 2016 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry. Katherine was born February 9, 1926 in Lawrence, MA, a daughter of the late Wallace and Constance (Levy) Meisner. She was a resident of Derry since 1952, formerly living in Lawrence. Katherine had been employed as a secretary for Chism Machinery in Derry for 27 years, as well as a clerk for the US Treasury for 15 years. She had been a member of the United Methodist in Lawrence, and had served as a past president of the United Methodist Women. Katherine enjoyed spending time with her grand nieces and grand nephews.
She is survived by her son, David M. Chism of Whitehall, NY, her sister, Barbara Coker of Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews, Kim Gallant, Kurt Meisner, Karen Moosian, Kyle Meisner, Dale Ketchum, Wendy Youngblood, Kirk Nelson, Kris Nelson; as well as her grand nieces and grand nephews, and her very good friends, Jim and Grace Thomas. She was predeceased by her husband, David W. Chism in 1982.
Following cremation, a calling hour was held on Saturday, July 16th from 2 – 3pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A memorial service will follow at 3:00pm in the funeral home.
