Harold C. “Babe” Hart, 89, of Tiverton, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Care Center. He was the husband of Shirley (Murray) Hart to whom he was married for 59 years.
Mr. Hart was born in Tiverton, son of the late Ellery P. and Ethel A. (Carter) Hart and had been a lifelong resident of Tiverton. A veteran of WWII, he served his country in the U.S. Navy. Prior to his retirement, he worked for the former I.C.I. of Dighton for 38 years. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the former Stone Bridge Fire Department and was a member of the former Central Baptist Church, both in Tiverton. He enjoyed camping with his family, bowling, fishing and going to the garage.
Survivors along with his wife include his daughter: Deborah S. Parent and her husband Michael of Fall River; his sister: Edith E. Healy of Tiverton; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Richard E. Hart.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday July 16, 2016 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours will be Friday from 5-8- P.M.
Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Tiverton.
