FALL RIVER — Francis W. "Frenchie" Sevigny, age 76, died on July 8, 2016 at the Crawford Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fall River where he had been a patient for the past two years.
Husband of Alice (Harding) Sevigny, he was born in Fall River, the son of the late Joseph 0. and Yvonne (St. Laurent) Sevigny and had lived in New Bedford for many years.
After high school he served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1960 when honorably discharged. Frenchie was mechanically inclined and had been employed with a local bus company. He loved country music.
In addition to his wife he is survived by children Michael Sevigny, Russell Goyette, Kathleen Goyette and Melissa Sevigny; brother Roger Sevigny; sister Gertrude St. Onge; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. in the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford with a sharing of memories at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be private
