Elaine A. Hood, 71, of E. Hampstead, NH passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 4, 1944 in Boston, MA a daughter of the late Albert and Carolina (Cacarillo) DiCicco. Elaine and her husband Bill were the proprietors of Albee’s Restaurant in Manchester. She touched the lives of many of her customers and employees who became like family to her. She was an avid New England Sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox. Elaine also loved gardening and cooking. Her cooking brought family and friends together. Of all the things in her life that she enjoyed, her family was always the most important thing to her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, William “Bill” Hood of E. Hampstead, her three devoted children, Michael Hood and wife Nancy of Andover, MA, Janette Gaumer and husband Jeff of Thornton, NH, and Darren Hood and wife Sarah of Needham, MA, eight grandchildren, Jessica and Kristina Yu, Samantha, Jacklyn, and J.C. Gaumer, and William, Matthew, and Caroline Hood, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. She will be sadly missed by her beloved Bella.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 4 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A brief prayer service will begin at 7:00pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 40 Buttrick Rd # B, Londonderry, NH 03053.
Following prayer services a Celebration of Life for Elaine will be held at Hoodkroft Country Club, 121 E Broadway, Derry.
