Louis M. Camara, age 81, of Swansea passed away on Monday July 11, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine (Isadore) Camara, and son of the late Mathias and Maria (Michaels) Camara. Louis was a proud Teamster and after retirement enjoyed driving School Buses for Fisher Bus Co. He also enjoyed working on cars with his late son Michael and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters; Cynthia Malloy (husband Patrick) and Susan Simons, siblings Lawrence Camara, and Louise Slauterbeck, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He predeceased by his son Michael L. Camara, siblings; Mathias, Jerome and Natalie Camara, and Hilda Torres, son-in-law Brian Simons.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River Thursday with extended calling hours from 9:00-10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Nathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Activities Department at Southpointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility 100 Amity St. Fall River, MA 02721.
