Ofelia Costa, 93, of Provincetown passed away peacefully at Eagle Pond Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Dennis on Sunday, July 10th. She was the wife of the late Joao Costa.
Born in Olhao Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Joao and Maria Marcelino. In 1969 she emigrated to the United States and settled in Provincetown. She became a housekeeper at Matthews Cottages, where she worked for over 30 years. She was an avid soccer fan and followed the Portuguese National Soccer Team passionately.
Mrs. Costa is survived by her son, Jose Ferreira and his wife Arnaldina of Provincetown, granddaughters Helena Ferreira of Provincetown and Ofelia Bago and her husband Tibor of Truro. She is also survived by three great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass to be held at St. Peter the Apostle Church, Prince St, Provincetown on Thursday, July 14th at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in St. Peters Cemetery.
