Michael D. Gill, 74, of Derry, NH entered into eternal life on Saturday, July 9th, 2016 following a brief, courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Boston, MA on November 25th, 1941, son of the late Daniel and Marguerite (Stanton) Gill. Mike had been a resident of Derry for the past 40 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology and Northeastern University, having majored in Mechanical Engineering. Mike was a self-employed entrepreneur and had previously owned several companies including Gill Design, Inc., Technical Systems & Design, and Gill Detective Agency. He was a Justice of the Peace as well as an ordained minister. Mike was actively involved in local politics, including creating and directing "Spotlight on Derry," the first local TV show that discussed politics and local current events, former chairman of the Rockingham Republican Committee, serving the Town of Derry as a member of the Charter Commission, the Derry Housing Authority, the Highway Safety Committee and Trustee of Trust Funds. He was a member of the Holy Cross Church in Derry, and was involved in the Knights of Columbus as a Fourth Degree Knight and prior Grand Knight.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Joanne (Sylvia) Gill. He was the devoted father of four children, John Gill, James Gill and his wife Dawn, Leslie Gill, Rachel Gill and her fiancé Timothy Byron, Daughter in law, Melinda Gill. Grandchildren Crystal, Nathan, Christopher, and Cady and great granddaughter Adeline. Three brothers, Daniel Gill and his wife Annette, Robert Gill and his wife Carol, and Stephen Gill and his wife Elaine. Michael was a loving Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Mike will be deeply missed by his many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday July 16th, 2016, 10:00am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 187 Hampstead Road, Derry, NH. Interment followed at Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry Rd, East Derry, NH.
