Dora (Morin) Jones, age 88 of Haverhill and formerly of Methuen passed away on July 10, 2016 at the Stevens-Bennett Retirement Home for Ladies. Dora was born in Lawrence on February 7, 1928 to the late Louis A. and Clara (Dubois) Morin. Mrs. Jones was educated in the Lawrence Schools and St. Anne’s School. For many years, Dora worked as a stitcher and laster in several shoe mills in Lawrence. She also worked at the IRS in Andover in the clearing and deposits departments for 21 years until her retirement in 1985. Dora enjoyed bowling, bingo, cooking, knitting and playing cards at St. Theresa’s Church of Methuen. She also loved seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dora was the beloved wife of the late Herbert A. Jones Jr. She was the devoted mother of Herbert A. Jones III and his partner Karen Robidoux of Salem, NH, Bradley J. Jones and his wife Kathy of Methuen, and Anne M. Jones-Cardinal and her husband Scott of North Carolina. Mrs. Jones was the dear sister of Mary Palermo of Andover, Claire Durand of Manchester, NH, the late Lillian Marotte, the late Evelyn Guy, the late Dorothy Genest, the late Delvina Thibodeau, and the late Ludger Morin. Dora was the loving grandmother of Michael Jones, Christopher Jones, David Cardinal, Stephen Cardinal, Jennifer Jones, Jodi Jones, Michael Jasinski, and Matthew Jasinski. She is the cherished great grandmother of 6.
Friends and guests are invited to call on, Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 9:00 AM at St. Monica’s Church of Methuen. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery of Methuen.
