WORCESTER-Edmond J. “Tag” Ahaesy, II, 60, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 9 in UMASS Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Edmond J. and Elizabeth A. (McCarthy) Ahaesy. He leaves a son, Eddie Pelletier; two brothers, James A. Ahaesy of Spencer and Matthew M. Ahaesy of Worcester; two sisters, Mary M. Willis and Sylvia Scanlon both of Worcester and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He graduated from Holy Name High School and attended Worcester State College.
Tag worked at the family business, Dacor Manufacturing, he also was a driver for Joey’s Limousine and worked for many funeral homes in Worcester with strong ties to Callahan and Fay families. He worked in the music business behind the scenes for the Kim Paige Band and the Kenny Baxter Band. Tag traveled with his brother, James as a young man and lived in Florida for several years. Most recently his passion was researching civil war veterans at local cemeteries and flagging their graves and then posting them on find-a-grave. He was the family historian and worked endlessly on documenting his family tree and putting together a book dating back to the 1700’s in Worcester. He was past Post Commander of the Willie Grout Camp 25 sons of the Union Veterans. Tag self published a book and was a great writer and had a wealth of knowledge and told many funny stories to make people laugh. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 22nd at 11:00 am at First Congregational Church, 1070 Pleasant St. Arrangements in the care of CALLAHAN~FAY~CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street.
