Linton Alvin Griffin, 73, of Ty Ty passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016, at his residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Griffin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at Union Grove Church of God Cemetery in Eldorado, where he will be laid to rest. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 12, 2016, from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of the service at Union Grove Church of God Cemetery in Eldorado.
Born Feb. 25, 1943, in Baxley (Appling County), Mr. Griffin was the son of the late Alvin and Maybelle Paige Griffin. He was also preceded in death by three brothers. He was a retired butcher and enjoyed coon hunting.
Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, Shirley Lawson Griffin of Ty Ty; a son and daughter-in-law, Dexter and Kim Griffin of Brunswick; two daughters and sons-in-law, Darita and David Guy of Milledgeville and Diane and Gene Mincey of Sumner; three brothers, Ray Griffin of Ty Ty, Larry Griffin of Sylvester and Dennis Griffin of Shingler; three sisters, Rebecca Eunice of Acree, Martha Sue Hughes of Jesup and Linda Faye Matthews of Poulan; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
