Ann Marie Varatta, 70, of Joe Sarle Road, Glocester, formerly of Smithfield, died Saturday, July 9, 2016 at her home. She was the wife of Thomas Varatta, Sr. They had been married for 52 years.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Jean V. (Cunningham) Rebello. She had most recently lived in Glocester and had previously lived in Smithfield. She wintered in Margate, Florida. She had worked at Rhode Island College for dining services before retiring.
Besides her husband she is survived by her children: Melissa Bailey and her husband, Nicholas, Thomas Varatta, Jr. of Smithfield and Gregory Varatta and his companion, Stephanie Machado of Providence, her grandchildren: Thomas V, III, Alan, Anthony and Ava Bela-Marie Varatta and Nicholas Bailey, her great granddaughter, Madison Varatta and her siblings: Thomas Rebello and his wife, Mary of Providence, Richard “Rocky” Rebello and his wife, Elaine of Johnston, Joseph Rebello and his wife, Sandy of North Providence, Gary Rebello and his wife, Linda of Pawtucket, James Rebello and his wife, Christine of North Providence and Donald Rebello of East Providence. She was the sister of the late Carole Jean Rebello and Ronald Rebello.
Funeral Tuesday at 8:30am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 930am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Monday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to American Lung Assoc.
