Father of Domenic DeVirgilio and his late wife Barbara of Norwood, Bonnie Quinlan and her husband Bill of Dedham, Mary DeVirgilio and her companion Michael Keller of Dedham, Anne DeVirgilio of Dedham, and Vincent DeVirgilio Jr. and his husband David Gray of Hull. Beloved Papa of Taylor and her husband Dan, Judith, William, Dylan, Waylon, Devin, and Wyatt. Great-grandfather of Cooper. Beloved uncle of Patricia Flannery of Dedham. Father-in-law of Henry Gough. Son of the late Domenic and Felicia (Stivaletta) DeVirgilio. Brother of Mary Ann Broccoli, Robert DeVirgilio, and the late Joseph and Dominic DiVirgilio. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in the States, Scotland, and Italy.
Korean War Veteran, U.S. Army. Former employee of Stivaletta Corp. Started his own business, VJD Construction. Retired Building Commissioner of Dedham. Member of the Italian American Club, Dedham Rotary, Carpenters Union, Dedham VFW, Dedham American Legion, and the Society in Dedham for Apprehending Horse Thieves. He had any easy going kind manner. A top shelf guy who did many favors. He was a family man and lover of practical jokes.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM, Wednesday, July 13 at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary Church, Dedham at 9am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 12 from 4-8pm. Interment in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
