BEVERLY FARMS: Marion Angelina (Renda) Hickey, 81, died Thursday, July 7, 2016 in the Ledgewood Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Beverly following an extended illness.
Born in Chelsea on August 26, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Mario and Stella (Zajac) Renda. She was a graduate of Revere High School and has resided in Beverly Farms for thirty years before moving to Ipswich for several years and returning to Beverly this past year.
Marion was employed as a manager for New England Telephone Company in Burlington and Andover for thirty-five years, where she was a member of the National Telephone Worker’s Union. She enjoyed reading, cooking, dining out, movies and she especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
The mother of seven children, her daughter, Catherine A. McDowell and her husband, Michael and their daughter, Melissa McDowell; six sons; Thomas L. Hickey, Jr., William Hickey and his wife, Heidi, and their two children, Bryan and Sarah Hickey, Kevin Hickey, Robert Hickey, Brian Hickey, John K. Hickey and his daughter, Caroline Marion Hickey.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
