Manuel Botelho, Jr., 80, of Westport, died Wednesday July 6, 2016 at home. He was the husband of Lydia C. (Sylvia) Botelho.
Born in Dartmouth, the son of the late Manuel and Alexandrina (Costa) Botelho, he lived in Dartmouth for most of his life, in Mattapoisett for 7 years and in Westport for the last 16 years.
Mr. Botelho was formerly employed as a construction worker for 30 years until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Linda A. Sylvia and her companion Jeff Pelletier of Wareham; 3 sons, Clifford J. Botelho and his companion Nancy Wilbur of Westport, Wayne M. Botelho and his wife Joanne of Dartmouth, and Manuel Botelho III of Westport; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was the grandfather of the late Clifford J. Botelho, Jr.
His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday July 16, 2016 at 1 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. His family will receive visitors from 11 AM -1 PM, prior to the Service. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168
