TEWKSBURY - Mrs. Eleanor Claire (Fall) Fortuna, age 82, died peacefully on Friday, July 8, at Prescott House in North Andover. She was the beloved wife for 56 years of Joseph A. Fortuna, who died in April 2011.
Eleanor was born in Dorchester, one of five children of the late William and Dorothy (Parsons) Fall, and was raised in Dorchester and East Boston. Upon marriage, she and Joe lived in Newton and Woburn, where they raised their family, before retiring to Tewksbury in 1997.
She leaves four children, Carmela “Candy” Hagar, Linda Pieleski and her husband Mark, and Marie Fortuna all of Tewksbury, Mark Fortuna of Boylston; a sister, Rose Gorham of Woburn; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours Sunday, July 10, from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. Her funeral will begin Monday, July 11, at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, No. Tewksbury.
