Lyla L. Northcutt, 82, formerly of Dover, DE, passed away peacefully Monday July 4, 2016 at Windham Terrace in Windham, NH. She was born in Hutchinson, MN on January 16, 1934 a daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Braun) Broderius. Mrs. Northcutt was a graduate of Gallaudet University, Class of 1958. She was recognized by the Presidential Council for the Disabled for her accomplishments in the 1950’s. She and her husband lived in Colorado Springs, CO for 37 years where she worked for over 20 years as a classroom teacher at the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind. In retirement, they lived in Dover, DE for 13 years and then moved to Windham, NH. Mrs. Northcutt was an amazing homemaker and an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed traveling and took many trips all over the world. For her, family was the most important thing and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchild.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Orville Northcutt of Windham, one son, Dr. Albert Northcutt and his wife Martha of Windham, one daughter, Caroline A. Greene and her husband Steve of Dover, DE, six grandchildren, Alexander, Jacob and Madalyn Northcutt and Spencer, Audrey and Clara Greene, one great grandchild Lyla, two brothers, Bruce Broderius of Greeley, CO, and Frank Broderius, Jr. of Minneapolis, MN, as well as many nieces and nephews.
