Obituary

Kevin S. Cadigan, 50, long-time resident of Lawrence, MA, passed away on Tuesday July 5, 2016 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston with his wife and priest by his side. Born and raised in Dorchester, MA, Kevin attended Boston College High School and was a proud BC Eagle. He also attended North Adams and Stonehill College and the University of Massachusetts.

Kevin is predeceased by his parents Joseph Steven Cadigan from Medford, MA and Georgianna Mary Cadigan (Sinclair) from Steuben, Maine. He is survived by his loving wife Jennifer Cadigan and their unborn child. He is also survived by his two sons Andrew and Ryan from a previous marriage, four siblings Patrick, Christopher, Stephen, Mary and their spouses, and his mother-in-law Carol Nicosia. Kevin also leaves behind nine nieces and nephews whom he loved very much, and so many close friends.

Kevin and Jennifer shared an incredibly strong bond; from courtship to marriage they celebrated each other through numerous adventures and travel including to Thailand and Aruba, and to getting married in the Bahamas where they solidified their lifelong commitment to each other. Best friends, they enjoyed everything together especially cooking. Kevin was a true foodie at heart, he was equally talented at manning his grill as he was in the kitchen, and was known for his famous chili cook-offs.

Kevin was a loyal Boston sports fan and shared that passion with his family and friends. His favorite teams were the Red Sox, the Celtics, the Patriots and the Bruins. He was also a huge music fan, with U2, Simply Red and James Taylor topping his list of favorites.

From Kevin’s loving sons, Andrew and Ryan:
Our dad coached our Little League baseball through the minor leagues and loved every moment of it. He enjoyed camping trips, golf, tennis, hiking, and especially driveway basketball and hockey games with us. Our dad lovingly spent time with us and took pride in all of our accomplishments. He also enjoyed celebrating his Irish heritage with us and teaching us about Irish culture.

Kevin was generous, loving, and intelligent and had a smile and laugh that was contagious. He always put the needs of his family and friends before his own. He was an active parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Lawrence, volunteered often, especially at the Cor Unum Meal Center in Lawrence, and donated blood regularly to the American Red Cross. As an organ and tissue donor, he will continue to give to others and change the lives of many.

Visitation is on Monday July 11, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 N Main St, Andover, MA 01810. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Lawrence at 118 S Broadway, Lawrence, MA 01843.
