Eleanore J Ciras, age 92, of Methuen, MA passed away peacefully Monday July 4, 2016 surrounded by her family at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home, Lawrence, MA.
Born in Lawrence on Feb 7, 1924, Eleanore (Ellie) retired to Fort Myers, Fl. in 1985. Ellie was preceded in death by her husband Joseph of 63 years, her twin sister Lillian Oldfield and her daughter Barbara Ciras Titone McGonigle. Ellie is survived by three daughters, Gayle Montequin of Meredith NH and Cape Coral, FL, Jackie and Norman Malenfant of Ft Myers, FL, Joelle and Hong Lee of Epping, NH, three sons, Joseph Jr and his partner Chris Sanscartier of Haverhill, MA, Thomas Ciras of Methuen, MA, and John Ciras of Dracut, MA and her brother, Ernie and his wife Ellie Moreau of Kingston, NH. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 23 Great grandchildren, 9 Great Great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Elllie was a member of the Cross Creek Golf Club in Fort Myers, FL. An avid golfer, she played on two leagues. Although taking an interest in golf later in life, she can proudly claim three holes in one. She especially loved playing golf with her children and grandchildren. She was always the "cheerleader" for all of her children's endeavors and sporting events. She loved playing cards and was also an accomplished knitter and seamstress. Her true happiness came from the family times that were spent together.
Eleanore’s family wishes to thank the staff and nurses at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home, for their love and care they gave to her.
