MARTHA (BARNARD) JAMES, 97, passed away on July 5, 2016. She is a retired employee of the Jefferson County Board of Education having worked at Millcreek Elementary, and a member of Ormsby Heights Baptist Church. Preceding her in death was her husband, Oscar James. Survivors include her children, Kenneth R. James (Brenda Patterson) and Elizabeth Singleton (Larry); six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and her sisters, Ann Burden and Betty Harper. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Centertown Cemetery, Centertown, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
