Matthew Ruell, 33, of New Bedford passed away Thursday, June 30,2016 unexpectedly. He was the husband of Erica (Walker) Ruell. The son of Pamela Marchetti and step father Jim Marchetti of RI. Matthew was a long time resident of New Bedford.
He was from the year 2001 graduating class of G.N.B.R.V.T.H.S. He worked as a carpenter most his life and love to cut hair when he could. He enjoyed playing softball and fishing. Matthew loved sports, he was a dedicated Jets fan all his life. But above all he loved nothing more than spending time with his children Devin Matthew Ruell age 14 and Mariah Ann-Janet Ruell 10. He has two sister and one brother Brenda Duchame of New Bedford, Elizabeth Chieppa of RI and Jeremy Palmer of Fall River. He also had several nieces and nephews.
His family are honoring all Matthew beliefs and wishes. He will be having a private celebration of life gathering surrounded by close family and friends at a disclosed area. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, MA 02740.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to a charity that helps end addiction or depression awareness.
