Methuen – Jodie A. (Arlitt) Carr, 46 of Methuen, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Darin A. Carr, Sr., to whom she was married for 25 years.
Jodie was born in Haverhill on July 31, 1969, the daughter of Benjamin Arlitt, Jr. and Alice (Gourde) Arlitt. She was educated in Methuen schools. After high school, she obtained her medical billing and transcript certificates. Jodie loved spending time with her family, especially her children. She enjoyed attending her children’s sporting activities, such as gymnastics and dance recitals as well as basketball, baseball, and softball games.
Jodie will be deeply missed by her husband, Darin; her 3 children, Darin “DJ” A. Carr, Jr., Jacob B. Carr, and Emily R. Carr, all of Methuen; her parents, Benjamin and Alice Arlitt of Methuen; 2 sisters, Cindy L. (Sweeney) Smith and Rebecca J. (Sweeney) Ippolito, both of Methuen; her grandmother, Anita C. Arlitt of Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Jodie’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 4-8 PM. Her funeral service will take place on Friday at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will private and at the convenience of the family.
