Laconia-----Bertha Evelyn Cote, 96, of Union Ave died peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, after a brief illness with her family by her side at Lakes Region General Hospital.
Bertha was born on March 8, 1920 in Sprague, CT. She worked many years at National Power Products in Belmont, until its closing. Bertha was an avid seamstress of clothing, draperies and then after retirement she also repaired boat covers. She loved crocheting and making quilts for babies, stuffed animals and hats for children with cancer. Bertha will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Bertha is survived by two sons, Adelard Cote of Georgia and George Cote and his family of Laconia; a daughter Irene Farquharson and husband Donald of Gilford,
several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Bertha was predeceased by her son, Herbert House, her daughter, Charlotte Smith and her ex-husband Joseph Cote.
There will be no calling hours.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 10:00am in Union Cemetery, Academy Street, Laconia NH.
